Pedestrian Killed While Crossing Old Hickory Boulevard Near Lebanon Pike

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The pedestrian struck and killed by a semi-truck just after 6 p.m. tonight while crossing Old Hickory Boulevard near the Lebanon Pike intersection is identified as Benjamin Wade, 39, of Mt. Juliet.

That portion of roadway is not illuminated by street lights. The driver of the semi-truck, Christopher Smith, 45, of Murfreesboro, showed no signs of impairment and, from evidence at the scene, is believed to have been traveling under the speed limit when the collision occurred. No charges were placed against him.
