Quintet of Mysterious Car Break-Ins Strike Jo Johnston

At least five cars were struck by a burglar late Saturday at the J. Henry Hale Apartments.

NASHVILLE, TN — Five cars at the J. Henry Hale Apartments on Jo Johnston Avenue were apparently broken in to some time late Saturday or early Sunday morning.

Metro Police say that the thief or thieves rooted through the glove compartments and center consoles of the cars, but it's not clear what, if anything, was taken.

Mysteriously, none of the cars had broken windows and alarms did not go off on the cars equipped with them. According to Metro Police statistics, the vast majority of car break-ins in Nashville are to vehicles with keys made available. Between March 12 and March 18, 62 of the 67 stolen cars in Davidson County had keys made available to thieves.
