Register Of Deeds Office Honored As One Of Nashville's Best Places To Work

The Davidson County Register of Deeds Office has been named one of Nashville’s Best Places to Work, according to Register Karen Johnson.

The annual honor from the Nashville Business Journal is based on responses given earlier this year by the department’s staff members. The office competed in the Medium (25-99 employees) category.

“Our experienced staff has taken the Register of Deeds Office to the next level, given the challenges all workplaces have faced since the pandemic began 13 months ago,” Johnson said. “We are humbled to receive such a prestigious honor for our efforts.

“We were unable to shut down or work remotely during the pandemic because we are an Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce, as designated by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Real estate transactions did not slow down, nor did the documents coming into the office, and our employees responded as they always do – professionally and efficiently.

“They showed commitment to what we do and flexibility in the face of a situation that came with no rule book to guide our way. Our employees make our workplace what it is, and they deserve this honor.”

The Davidson County Register of Deeds Office is the steward of all property documents. The office records documents that include Warrant Deeds, Deeds of Trust, Releases, Powers of Attorney, Liens, Plats, and other miscellaneous land documents.
