River Rescue Ends In Arrest

A Nashville man, allegedly fleeing from police, had to be pulled from a riverbank by a rescue boat Friday.

NASHVILLE, TN — It took a dog and a boat for police to rescue and capture a man who fled during the service of a search warrant in Bordeaux Friday.

Metro Police gang units were serving a warrant on Buena Vista Pike when, they say, a man fired a gun near the officers. They ordered him to drop the weapon but he instead ran.

He eventually dropped the weapon and ran towards the Cumberland River. The two-legged officers could not reach him, but a K-9 officer was able to locate and corner the man until a rescue boat arrived.

The investigation is ongoing.
