Rogue Raccoon Runs In Road, Driver Dodges, Pummels Power Poles
More than a quarter mile of Charlotte Pike was closed early Thursday after a driver crashed into a series of utility poles.

NASHVILLE, TN β A masked bandit started a chain of events knocking out power to parts of West Nashville and closing Charlotte Pike for nearly two hours early Thursday morning.
A ne'er-do-well raccoon ran into the road around 2 a.m., and a passing motorist, not wanting to harm Tennessee's state animal, swerved, causing her to lose control of the car, run up on the curb and take out two utility poles. Nashville Electric Crews were able to right the poles, but more than a quarter mile of Charlotte between Morrow and White Bridge roads was closed until about 4 a.m.
