Single-Car Crash On Nashville's Couchville Pike Kills 1 High School Student & Critically Injures 2 Others

A single-car midday crash in the 2500 block of Couchville Pike claimed the life of one teenager and critically injured two others, all McGavock High School students.

Killed was the driver, Kevin Duke Jr., 18, of Nashville. At Vanderbilt Medical Center are the front seat passenger, Aidan Sullivan, 17, of Nashville, and Gerome White, also 17, of Hermitage.
The preliminary investigation shows that Duke was driving his 2003 Acura east on Couchville Pike at a high rate of speed when it went off the roadway in a curve. Duke over-corrected and the Acura went off the opposite side of the road, struck a culvert and then a tree on the driver’s side.

There were no signs of alcohol or drug use at the scene.
