Smyrna Man Injured in Mysterious Downtown Nashville Shooting

While walking on Lower Broadway, Kyle Freeman was shot in the shoulder seemingly out of nowhere.

NASHVILLE, TN β€” An odd shooting on Lower Broadway Saturday night has police scratching their heads and a man nursing his shoulder.

Smyrna's Kyle Freeman was downtown with friends when, at the intersection of Second Avenue and Broadway, he felt a sharp pain in his shoulder. He and his group continued walking for a block or so before noticing that Freeman had been shot.

Freeman had minor injuries treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Even with the large long-weekend crowds in popular tourist hot spot, there were no reports of a person carrying a gun and, other than Freeman's wound, there was no other evidence of a gunshot.
