Southwest Adds Non-Stop Flights From Nashville to Minneapolis, Increases Routes Elsewhere

Southwest adds more daily flights between Nashville and St. Louis, Ft. Lauderdale, Dallas and San Antonio.

NASHVILLE, TN — Nashville travelers will have a non-stop option to Minneapolis and more ways to get to St. Louis, Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale and San Antonio, Southwest Airlines announced Tuesday. New routes from Nashville International will begin June 4, the airline said.

Southwest will begin daily non-stop service to Minneapolis, while adding a fifth flight to Dallas, a third to St. Louis and a third to San Antonio. In addition, a fifth Saturday flight was added to Ft. Lauderdale, where Southwest has opened an International Arrivals building for connections to the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.

Tickets for the new flights are on sale now.

Southwest will have 99 daily departures from Nashville starting the summer.

"Nashville business travelers have been asking for more convenient flight times to and from Minneapolis. We are thrilled Southwest Airlines has once again delivered," Tommy Lewis, chair of the Nashville Air Service Coalition and senior vice president of Change Healthcare, said in a release. "There is considerable connective tissue between Minneapolis and Nashville in the healthcare industry. It is essential to have convenient and affordable air service connecting leading healthcare regions."
