Sunday Night Shootout Kills 1, Injures 2 In North Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN — A shootout on 12th Avenue North killed one man and injured two other people Sunday night.

Police responded the 1600 block of 12th Avenue North around 7 p.m. to find three people — two men and a woman — shot. (For more updates on this story and free news alerts for your neighborhood, sign up for your local Middle Tennessee Patch morning newsletter.)

One of the men died at the hospital and the other is in critical condition. The woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Two cars were left at the scene and investigators are trying to determine who was in which vehicle.

Detectives were going door-to-door looking for witnesses Sunday night. Investigators are also trying to figure out if all three are victims of the same shooting from a third party or if, in fact, they were shooting at one another.
