Teen Arrested For Murder Of A Man During An East Nashville Gun Transaction

Dewaun White, 17, was booked into juvenile detention following an interview.

Homicide Unit detectives Wednesday night charged Dewaun White, 17, with the February 3rd murder of Braxton Cooper, 22, inside Cooper’s car at Berkshire Place Apartments, 1500 Porter Road.

The investigation, being led by Detective Chris Dickerson, shows that Cooper went to the apartment complex to buy a gun from White. An altercation took place during the transaction inside Cooper’s car, during which Cooper was fatally wounded.

White was taken into custody by TITANS (The Investigative Team Addressing Neighborhood Shootings) detectives at his Brookdale Drive residence. He was booked into juvenile detention following an interview.
