Officers responded to shots fired at 1:40 p.m. after Trynity Meadows’ 29-year-old brother called police. He reported hearing shots and then finding his father’s body lying near the front door. He then saw his sister outside, running away. She was taken into custody a short time later. She refused to speak with detectives.

Home surveillance video after the shooting shows Trynity at the front door holding a handgun prior to fleeing. The gun has not been recovered.

Otis Meadows, 49, died at the scene. No other persons were inside the home at the time of the shooting.

There are two reports of domestic disputes involving Trynity and her father in which Trynity is listed as the suspect. In April, officers responded to the home after a heated verbal dispute. In November 2019, officers were told the teen had been throwing items around the house for no apparent reason. There were no injuries reported in either incident.
