Total Eclipse 2017 In Tennessee: Metro Nashville Schools In Class August 21
The MNPS board voted to keep schools open on the day of the total solar eclipse, closing instead September 1.

NASHVILLE, TN — Metro public school students will be when the historic coast-to-coast total solar eclipse casts Nashville in total darkness August 21.
The Metro Nashville Public Schools board voted to keep classes in session that day — a number of area districts have opted to close — and give a day off September 1 instead. Students with plans will be given excused absences that day and schools will have viewing plans.
