The roadway was in the process of being repaved when a Kenworth dump truck hauling asphalt and being driven by Dennis Miller, 64, backed over Ellis, who was wearing a high visibility traffic vest.
The preliminary contributing factor to the collision appears to be improper backing on the part of Miller. He showed no signs of impairment. Any charges against Miller will be determined at the conclusion of the investigation and consultation with the District Attorney’s Office.
