Two from Nashville Win Mr. Football
MBA's Ty Chandler and East Nashville's Jacob Phillips won awards at Monday's ceremony at Nissan Stadium.

NASHVILLE, TN — MBA's Ty Chandler won his second straight Mr. Football and East Nashville's Jacob Phillips won his school's first-ever Mr. Football at a ceremony Monday at Nissan Stadium.
Chandler won Division II-AA Back of the Year for second time. The senior running back for the Big Red is a University of Tennessee commitment and ran for 2,034 yards and 36 touchdowns this year, leading MBA to a BlueCross Bowl appearance Thursday against Brentwood Academy at 7 p.m. in Cookeville.
Chandler is the first repeat winner from MBA since quarterback Ingle Martin won back-to-back in 1999 and 2000.

East Nashville High School's Jacob Phillips became his school's first-ever Mr. Football winner.
The linebacker, University of Oklahoma commitment and Army All-America won the Lineman of the Year award in Class 3A.
