The Altima was being driven at a high rate of speed on Murfreesboro Pike when the car traveled through a red light at Hamilton Church Road and was struck by the driver of Honda Pilot, Christian Asiedu-Omari, 60. Asiedu-Omari was traveling east on Hamilton Church Road and had the green light. The Altima then spun causing the driver’s side to strike the front end of an Audi A4, driven by Michael Gergis, 37. The Audi was in the left turn lane for the southbound lanes of Murfreesboro Pike. The Audi then struck a Lexus 350, driven by Emad Abdou, 22, which was behind the Audi in the left turn lane.

The Altima was occupied by five males. In addition to Wilkerson and Hamilton, a third teen, age 18, was in the back seat. He and the 17-year-old front seat passenger are in stable condition at Vanderbilt Medical Center. No one in the Altima was wearing a seatbelt. A handgun was recovered from the Altima.
