Warrants Withdrawn Against Homicide Suspect Pending Further Investigation

Homicide Unit detectives are withdrawing the warrants related to Monday night's murder.

Following an interview tonight with Saamia Boyce Jr., 28, Homicide Unit detectives are withdrawing the warrants against him related to Monday night’s murder of his ex-girlfriend Alexis Douglas to further investigate Boyce’s claim that he was mistakenly identified by a witness.

Douglas, 29, and her boyfriend, Gene Fernandez, were shot inside her Elm Hill Pike apartment. Douglas died at the scene. Fernandez sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries.
