• New school buildings part of school budget (themountainpress.com) — Major changes are coming for Sevier County schools serving Sevierville, including plans for a new Sevier County High School building and an end to universal free lunches next year. Officials outlined a three-year capital plan with new facilities, classroom additions, and gym upgrades across the county, while stressing that no student in need will be denied a meal thanks to community support.
   

• Property assessor reviews new appraisals (themountainpress.com) — Property owners in Sevierville and across Sevier County are receiving new appraisal notices showing big jumps in property values, but state law limits how much local governments can increase total property tax revenue this year. Officials explain how the certified tax rate works, why some bills may still change, and how you can question or formally appeal your new appraisal before July 10.
   

• No injuries reported after cabin fire (themountainpress.com) — A cabin fire off Sugarloaf Road near Sevierville sent flames and smoke high enough to be seen for miles Monday afternoon, but no one was hurt and the damage was contained to one cabin. Sevier County Fire Rescue, Sevierville Fire Department, and numerous neighboring agencies responded, while the county fire marshal continues investigating the cause.
