From ruins to revival: Plan to restore historic landmark moves forward (ktxs.com) — A major restoration of the historic Abilene Courts on South 11th is moving forward, with community input shaping plans for markets, food trucks, events, and even lodging. The Abilene Preservation League is pursuing key grant funding from the Texas Historical Commission to kick off design work and eventual construction, aiming to turn the fragile landmark into a vibrant gathering spot for Abilene residents.
   

2. Abilene exhibit honors families' infertility, miscarriage and infant loss journeys (ktxs.com) — A new exhibit at Abilene’s Center for Contemporary Arts is spotlighting local families’ experiences with infertility, miscarriage, and infant loss through the Perinatal Care Center’s “Seen and Unseen” Art of Motherhood project. 3. Anticipation Builds For Rebel Fest In Abilene With A Special Bruno Mars Tribute Show (keanradio.com) — Rebel Fest is set to return to Abilene on August 22, bringing back its mix of Texas music, community spirit, and rowdy fun. Organizers say this year continues the legacy started by founder Robert Ybarra, with an added Bruno Mars tribute show at Potosi Live to amp up the celebration for Abilene-area fans.
   

4. Big Country women launch new program to help families after sexual assault (ktxs.com) — Families in Abilene are getting a new locally driven support option after a child discloses sexual assault at home. Two Big Country women are building “Ruth’s,” a program under Truth and Roots, to guide entire families through the difficult aftermath while keeping victims protected. They’re still planning trainings and inviting residents to learn how to get involved.
