First Baptist Church of Granite Shoals hires new pastor, rebrands and relaunches

Season of change as church celebrates its 63rd anniversary this month

The First Baptist Church of Granite Shoals, located at 505 South Phillips Ranch Road, recently hired a new pastor, rebranded as “Grace Harbor Church,” will have a display at Market Day on Main in Marble Falls on Saturday, September 12, and celebrate its 63rd anniversary on Sunday, September 27.

The church's new pastor, Rev. Jeff Roman, served in the U.S. Army from 1976 through 1996. He became a Christian in 1994 and his call to ministry began one year later.

Roman began his ministry as a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Copperas Cove, Texas, where he was ordained in 1995 and also served as the Minister of Youth. In 1997 this same church licensed him to the ministry and he became Associate Pastor.

Two years later, in 1999, Roman was ordained as Pastor by the Talty Baptist Church in Talty, Texas, where he served until 2001. From 2001 – 2003, he was Pastor of Enon Baptist Church in Roanoke, Virginia.

After a family tragedy in 2003, Roman moved to Connecticut to be closer to his parents. Jeff became Pastor of First Baptist Church in Tolland, Connecticut and served there until early 2013, when he joined Cibolo Valley Baptist Church in Cibolo, Texas.

Roman holds an Associate Degree in Management from Hawaii Pacific University (1990), a Diploma of Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (2001), a Master of Arts in Religion from Hartford Seminary (2006) and a Doctor of Ministry from Liberty University (2026).

Roman and his wife Maritza have three sons, Kevin, Brian, and Ryan. His personal interests include reading, running, hiking and spending time with his family.
