1. UTA Top Yellow Ribbon School: University of Texas at Arlington Honored for Veteran Support (arlingtonnetwork.com) — Military-connected residents in Arlington now have another reason to look at UTA, as the university has been named a Top Yellow Ribbon School for its extensive veteran support services. With more than 5,500 military-connected students and programs like the Veteran's Edge peer mentoring initiative, UTA is expanding resources and inviting local businesses to partner on internships and career opportunities for transitioning service members.
   

2. Lizard exhibit integrates art, research on UTA's west campus (theshorthorn.com) — UTA's west campus is hosting REPTILIA, a new exhibition blending lizard evolution research with vivid artwork, now on display at the Fine Art Collections Gallery through Nov. 13. Created by biology professor Luke Frishkoff and artist Osra West, the show uses specimens, paintings, and Caribbean cultural elements to make complex science accessible to Arlington students and neighbors.
   

3. Seven non-citizens face federal charges tied to Tarrant, Dallas County elections (star-telegram.com) — Federal prosecutors say several non-citizens illegally registered or voted in recent elections using polling places that included Arlington's East Library and Recreation Center and the Tarrant County Subcourthouse. Authorities stress that the alleged offenses, dating back to 2017, could bring prison time and are part of a broader investigation led by federal and county agencies into election integrity in Tarrant and Dallas counties.
   

4. Electric Air Taxis In The Sky Over North Texas (carpro.com) — Electric air taxis are being test-flown around North Texas, including a planned round trip route to Arlington, potentially previewing a new way to bypass I‑30 traffic. The flights, part of TxDOT's Project Nexus, are gathering data that could shape future passenger air‑taxi service connecting Arlington with major hubs like DFW Airport and other Texas Triangle cities.
   

5. PBSA 2026 Annual Conference (troutman.com) — Arlington will host the Professional Background Screening Association's 2026 Annual Conference from September 27–29, bringing legal and compliance experts to town. Sessions will cover new federal and state rules on background checks, data tracking technologies, and litigation trends, which may interest local employers, HR professionals, and legal teams who rely on screening services.
