Get Ready for the Spooktacular Monster Mash Run

Halloween is creeping closer, and Houston Running Company's (HRC) Monster Mash Run is ready to deliver a fang-tastic morning of fitness, fun and philanthropy. The event starts and ends at Karbach Brewing Company (2032 Karbach Street) on Saturday, October 31 – and proceeds will help to support four local charitable organizations that are making a meaningful impact in Houston and the greater Texas community.

Runners, walkers and little ghouls of all ages are invited to join this family-friendly event featuring Halloween-themed fun, festive activities and plenty of opportunities to show off their best costumes. The 5K/10K will both kick off at 7:30 a.m., followed by an awards ceremony at 9:15 a.m. and the Kids/Family 1K will start at 9:30 a.m.

“We’re thrilled to bring the Monster Mash Run back to Houston,” said Randi Schooley, co-founder of HRC. “This event is the perfect blend of fitness and Halloween spirit, giving participants the chance to create lasting memories while supporting organizations that strengthen our community - one step at a time.”

Event proceeds will support four nonprofit organizations making a difference in the lives of others. Ainsley's Angels provides inclusive racing opportunities for individuals with special needs; Asher House rescues and rehomes displaced animals; Kids’ Meals fights childhood hunger by delivering free, healthy meals to preschool-aged children in need; and LifeGift Organ Donation saves and improves quality of life through organ, eye and tissue donation services across North and West Texas.

The Monster Mash Run is the seventh frightfully fun stop in HRC’s nine-event Holiday Series, bringing together fitness, community spirit and a little Halloween magic. The final two events include The Great Houston Pie Run on November 21 – a pre-Thanksgiving celebration, and the 12K of Christmas on December 19. Participants who register for multiple events can receive registration discounts.

Participants can expect a morning filled with chills, thrills and memories that are anything but scary. Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, top three Masters (40+) male and female finishers, and first-place age group winners in 10-year divisions. Age group awards should be claimed on race day at the Awards Tent between 9:15 and 9:45 a.m. on race day.

Whether you’re a speedy skeleton, a wicked witch or simply looking for a boo-tiful way to spend Halloween morning, the Monster Mash Run Houston has something for everyone.
