Arlington City's Care And Share Fund Helping Financially Vulnerable Residents With Water Utilities Bill Assistance

The company has donated more than $250,000 to the Care and Share Fund since the contract began five years ago.

A donation-driven fund that helps financially-vulnerable Arlington residents has set records with the amount of aid distributed in the past year.

Arlington Water Utilities' Care and Share fund provides financial assistance to Arlington residents who meet certain income guidelines and are having trouble paying their city services bill. It is administered in cooperation with three community nonprofits, Catholic Charities of Fort Worth, Mission Arlington and Arlington Urban Ministries. Since Oct. 1, 2020, $114,952.30 in aid has been distributed from the fund to pay water and sewer bills. The Care and Share fund has helped more than 420 residents and their families.

In addition to donations from residents, the Care and Share Fund receives a yearly donation from Service Line Warranties of America as part of an Arlington Water Utilities contract with the company for right-of-way sewer line repairs. The company has donated more than $250,000 to the Care and Share Fund since the contract began five years ago.
