Arlington Public Library: Celebrate Global Diversity Awareness Month With Storytimes, Cultural Events And Books
There will be different items that highlight culture, history, and diversity.

October 2021 is Global Diversity Awareness Month. During this time we celebrate and spread awareness about the diversity of cultures and ethnicities from all around the world. Easier now than ever to connect with those around us, Global Diversity Awareness Month helps us learn more about the cultures that are near and far.

According to the United Nations International Migration report, nearly 272 million people live in a country other than their country of birth, meaning the migration of people and cultures has spread at a 77 percent increase since 1990. We work, live, and are around many people of different cultures and ethnicities. Join us as we celebrate the many cultures that surround us with events like our award-winning World Language Storytimes, a cultural exploration event, and more. We will also have a World Cultural Display highlighting different cultures starting Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at the Lake Arlington Branch. There will be different items that highlight culture, history, and diversity. Bring your families and learn about the diversity all around us.
World language storytimes will be offered in English and a different international language.
