Juvenile Who Attacked Woman In Park Treated For Mental Illness
Police determined the young person suspected of attacking a woman with a sharp object in Veterans Park had serious mental illness.

ARLINGTON, TX — A woman was injured by a a young person with a sharp object in Veterans Park Wednesday, police say.
According to a statement from Arlington police, the juvenile suspect used an edged object — possibly a piece of glass — to harm the woman.
Police swarmed the area and found the suspect, who was taken to a mental health facility.

The suspect was later taken to Tarrant County Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Arlington's police chief Will Johnson, took to Twitter to further explain the situation, "Yesterday, a juvenile suspect assaulted a woman while she was walking in a park. The suspect was diagnosed with severe mental disorders when voices told him to attack her..."

The woman is still being treated for her injuries.
The suspect lived near the park, police said.
