Missing 67-Year-Old Man Found Dead In Pool

ARLINGTON, TX — A 67-year-old man reported missing on March 12 was found dead Thursday in a swimming pool in Arlington.

Police responded to a drowning call in the 3500 block of Quail Lane around 5:00 p.m. Thursday. When officer arrived, they found Merlin Butler dead in the backyard pool of the house.

Butler went missing in the same area where he was later found, police said. A Silver Alert was not issued, but Arlington Police said in a Facebook post that he was likely disoriented due to unnamed medical conditions.

An investigation into the drowning is ongoing, but police say foul play is not suspected.
