Allison Nathan Getz to be honored with new Beaumont greenway (beaumontenterprise.com) — Beaumont residents will soon see a new landscaped greenway on Phelan Boulevard at Dowlen Road, honoring longtime public servant and community volunteer Allison Nathan Getz. The city council unanimously approved the Beautify Beaumont project, funded by a donation from her husband and the nonprofit, to add trees, flower beds, and a sign recognizing her service and encouraging pride in the city.

Beaumont targets traffic light fixes as crashes rise during I-10 work (beaumontenterprise.com) — Beaumont is rolling out major traffic-signal upgrades to ease congestion and improve safety as crashes have jumped 40% during I-10 construction. City engineers are adding adaptive signal technology and re-timing key intersections like Fourth, 11th, MLK, Major Drive and Highway 105. Beaumont police seek help locating missing 14-year-old boy with autism (12newsnow.com) — Beaumont police are urgently asking for your help to find 14-year-old Taiden Armstrong, a boy with autism last seen at his North Major Drive home Tuesday afternoon. He’s described as 5'9", about 150 pounds, with braided hair, glasses, and was wearing a pink jacket and blue jeans when he may have wandered away.
   

4. Grieving mother of dead teen delivers strong message at Mayor's coalition against violence (kfdm.com) — Beaumont residents are rallying after a teen was fatally shot at Perlstein Park, with his mother sharing her grief and hard truths at the Mayor’s Coalition Against Violence. City leaders, youth panelists, and parents discussed causes of local violence and highlighted needs like mentorship, mental health support, and jobs, with another public meeting set for July 25 at the Beaumont Event Centre.
