• ‘Stories worth telling': Community voices needed for new anthology (southtexasnews.com) — Beeville and Bee County writers are being invited to submit stories, poems, and essays for a new local anthology celebrating community life. The Bee County Writers Group, which meets monthly at Duryea Gallery in downtown Beeville, welcomes both beginners and experienced authors. Submissions can cover fiction, memoir, history, or folklore connected to Bee County.
   

• Beeville family remains in abandoned apartment complex and city orders them to evacuate by May 2 (kztv10.com) — A Beeville mother and her son are being ordered to leave the abandoned Normandy Apartments by May 2 after the complex was deemed unsafe, even though she feels her unit is livable. City health and code enforcement officials insist the buildings are uninhabitable but say they’re willing to help her find a new place. The family, without running water, is scrambling for more time to move.
