“As Covid-19 numbers spike again and continue to trend upward, we all have to do our part to help stop the spread. We have 10,000 masks to distribute, to enable everyone to get masks and wear them, to help prevent the spread of this virus. Saving one life is saving the entire world,” said Rabbi Yossi Zaklikofsky, director of The Shul of Bellaire.

“We must do everything in our power to support a safe and healthy society. Having access to free masks will encourage people to wear them as much as possible. As a community we must protect each other and overcome this challenging virus,” said Mrs. Esty Zaklikofsky, co-director of The Shul.

In addition to the mask distribution, The Shul has been serving the community with a variety of Covid-19 crisis assistance programs and events including Shabbat Challah packages, personal outreach to the elderly and homebound, counseling, and many Zoom classes and events. Many basic supplies and essentials for living during this pandemic have been hard to come by, limiting families' abilities to shop and provide for themselves and loved ones.
“We feel a deep responsibility to serve and are determined to help in any way we can, especially during these challenging and often tough times. Through the generosity of our donors, we are here to give practical assistance and try and help people stay strong through this terrible pandemic," said Rabbi Yossi Zaklikofsky.

“We are here to uplift others, and right now people need masks and a message of hope. The medical experts say that masks work to save lives and help limit the spread of the virus. Our job is to get masks into the hands of anyone that needs them,” states Esty Zaklikofsky.

The free, reusable, 100% cotton face masks will be available on a first come, first served basis, and are approved and recommended by the Department of Health & Human Services USA.
If anyone needs masks and cannot make it to the Wednesday distribution, you may arrange an alternative pickup time. If anyone wants to help the Covid-19 crisis assistance efforts or needs more information, please contact Rabbi Yossi Zaklikofsky at: (713) 839-8887, (713) 256-3737 or email info@jewishbellaire.com.
