• Bertram ponders future of emergency medical services (dailytrib.com) — Bertram leaders are warning residents that the city’s once-cheap ambulance contract with Burnet has jumped to $70,000 for 2027 and could rise much higher in coming years. To avoid losing the ambulance stationed in town, officials are exploring a future partnership with an emergency services district, which would require voter approval and could mean new local taxes to maintain fast response times.
