Judge John Durrenberger also highlighted ongoing courthouse renovations, a newly discovered time capsule that will be opened publicly, and announced that this will be his final State of the Community address before retirement.

Alford outlines healthcare expansions and "Brenham First" strategy in State of the Community address (southtexasnews.com) — Brenham residents are set to see major upgrades in local healthcare, including a new 50,000-square-foot medical office building on South Market and expanded specialty services at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Brenham. Dr. Eric Alford detailed recent physician recruitment, new imaging equipment, and a "Brenham First" strategy aimed at keeping patients from needing to leave Washington County for care.

4. Helen Ruth Mize (lexingtonleader.com) — Brenham friends and neighbors are mourning the passing of 82-year-old Helen Ruth Mize, whose funeral was held Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham. Remembered for her faith, service, and warm personality, she leaves behind her husband Warner, extended family including relatives in Brenham, and many friends encouraged to honor her through memorial donations to local Lutheran schools and ministries.
