• Burton ISD approves staff pay raises for 2026-27 school year (kdhnews.com) — Burton ISD employees can expect pay bumps next school year, with non-teaching staff getting a 1.5% raise and teachers and bus drivers receiving step increases. Trustees also approved replacing the elementary gym floor, advanced construction fixes after recent flooding, set summer school and 2026-27 goals, and swore in two new board members.
   

• Falls City's Cavalier among Blinn College PTA graduates (southtexasnews.com) — A Burton resident, Michaela Wilke, is among 16 students graduating from Blinn College’s Physical Therapist Assistant Program, which boasts strong exam pass and job placement rates. The program, based at Texas A&M-RELLIS in Bryan, prepares students for hands-on careers helping patients recover mobility, with Texas offering strong employment prospects and competitive salaries for PTAs.
