CEDAR PARK, TX -- Police on Monday identified the victim of a fatal motorcycle accident over the weekend.
Austin resident Christopher Ray Burnett, 28, was killed after being ejected from the Suzuki GSXR 600 motorcycle he was driving. The young man -- whose 29th birthday would've been Nov. 16 -- was pronounced dead at the scene at Anderson Mill Drive and Lime Creek.
Police earlier said Burnett was traveling northbound on Anderson Mill Drive at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the motorcycle. Police are trying to determine if alcohol consumption contributed to the accident, officials said previously.

Initially, police said it appeared Burnett lost control after hitting a rock in the roadway. But in a corrected news release issued on Monday, police said the man hit a rock after being ejected from the bike.
As part of an investigation into the crash, police will reconstruct the crash on Thursday at 10 a.m., according to a news advisory. During that time, Anderson Mill Drive from Zappa to Lime Creek will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

Police noted that the crash represented the third traffic fatality in Cedar Park so far this year. A photo of Burnett was supplied to media outlets as seen on his driver's license.
According to a Suzuki GSXR 600 enthusiasts page, the top speed of that particular motorcycle model is nearly 200 mph. On the page, owners describe the speedometer reads that as the top speed, but it's actually closer to 180 mph.
