Cedar Park Shooting Suspect Supposedly Confessed On Facebook

Jose Loza, 26, is accused of fatally shooting Fernando Lopez and injuring victim's uncle in a fit over text messages to his ex-girlfriend.

CEDAR PARK, TX — The suspect in a deadly shooting in Cedar Parkearlier this month is said to have confessed to the crime on Facebook, according to published reports.

Referencing an arrest affidavit, Jose Loza, 26, is accused of fatally shooting Fernando Lopez, 22, as the victim and his uncle sat in a car at the corner of 183A and East Whitestone Boulevard at around 6 a.m., CBS Austin reported. The older man was hospitalized for medical treatment of gunshot wounds.

Prior to the killing, according to the report, Lopez feared for his life after multiple threats from the suspect. The reason for Loza's ire was that Lopez had texted the suspect's ex-girlfriend, according to the report. The suspect is said to have expressed his anger on Facebook: "It was me, I called him, I killed him," and "I don't give a f***, I have the b****," Loza is said to have written.
