Leander Police ID Man Killed In Crash While Lying Across Street

LEANDER, TX — Police on Wednesday identified the man who was killed last week after being struck by a car while lying down on a street.
The incident occurred last Monday, Oct. 14, at around 7:45 p.m. along the 500 block of Horizon Park Boulevard, police said in a press advisory at the time. Police said a woman driving a gray Ford pickup truck traveling southbound near the artery struck the man who was lying on the roadway.
The victim was transported to St. David's Round Rock Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on arrival. A police spokesman told Patch the man was publicly identified as 22-year-old Hunter Levy Ching after his family members were informed of his death.

The driver of the vehicle that hit Ching showed no signs of impairment and stayed on the scene awaiting the arrival of police, officials said. No charges are expected as a result.
