Lightning Sparks Four House Fires Throughout Cedar Park, Leander
One home in Cedar Park and three others in Leander sustained fire damage, the worst of which was seen in the latter city.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — Lightning brought about by Monday's storms sparked four blazes in Williamson County, keeping firefighters busy throughout the afternoon.
One fire hit a Cedar Park home at Paden Circle, near Colonial Parkway and Vista Ridge Boulevard, KXAN reported. The lightning-induced fire was caused at around 3:15 p.m. following a severe thunderstorm warning issued by the National Weather Service for the southwest portion of southwestern Williamson County and northwest Travis County.
Three other houses in Leander were reported the same afternoon, the station reported: in the 400 block of Monahans Drive, the 200 block of Lookout Range Drive and the 3500 block of Goodnight Trail. Each of those homes reportedly sustained heavy damage as a result.

According to Leander fire officials on Twitter, two other structure fires and another pair of grass fires were sparked on Monday in addition to the homes. All were quickly extinguished.

KXAN reported that a woman and her seven-year-old child were inside the home in Cedar Park, but managed to exit safely. No injuries were reported at the other house fires either, fire officials said.
