Looking For Sex In Georgetown, Man Instead Is Robbed, Left Stranded In Leander
Expecting a woman, victim arrived at apartment after answering ad, where two men proceeded to rob him in what would be a very rough Monday.

LEANDER, TX -- An area man had a pretty bad Monday this week, and is lucky to be alive after being robbed while answering a sex ad and then left by the side of the road while his captors drove off in his truck.
Police said the trouble for the man answered an online ad for sex in Georgetown, according to events detailed by the Austin American-Statesman. What would transpire would lead to the man being robbed at gunpoint and then left stranded on a Leander road, according to an affidavit.
Shortly after 1 p.m. on Monday, the victim notified police that two men had stolen his 2000 Dodge Dakota truck at gunpoint before dropping him off at RM 2243 and County Road 176, according to an affidavit referenced by the Statesman in its report.

The victim had arrived at an apartment in the 1100 block of Leaner Road (FM 2243) in Georgetown after having responded to an ad promising a sexual encounter. Instead, a man emerged from the shower while another man started emptying the victim's pockets, according to the affidavit details the newspaper outlined.
The men demanded $800, but the victim had only $160 on him. Being $640 short of their demanded amount, they forced the victim to drive to an ATM but instead dumped him on the street.

Luckily for the victim, police later got a call about a suspicious vehicle that happened to match the description of the stolen truck. Consequently, a suspect was located with a woman an an abandoned house. They also found a pellet gun that looked like an actual gun, the Statesman reported.
One of the suspects has been arrested. Randy Echavarria, 31, was charged with aggravated robbery, tampering with physical evidence and unauthorized use of a vehicle. He's now at the Williamson County Jail with bail set at $62,5o0.
