Man Arrested For Indecency With Child After Meeting Teen For Sex Outside Leander Pool

Joseph Keith Baldeschwiler, 37, faces up to 20 years if convicted.

LEANDER, TX -- A Goliad, Texas, man was arrested after police said he made a teenage boy touch him inappropriately while both were in a vehicle outside a public pool in Leander, according to a published report.

Referencing details found in an affidavit, the Austin American-Statesman reported Joseph Keith Baldeschwiler, 37, is charged with indecency with a child, a second-degree felony. The suspect also was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon.

At around 3:25 a.m. last Saturday, an officer observed a white truck parked outside the Lakeline Ranch Homeowners Association pool in Leander, the Statesman reported, citing the affidavit.

After flashing a light inside the vehicle, Baldeschwiler was seen hurriedly pulling up his shorts. The teen told police he met Baldeschwiler on a mobile app and agreed to meet for sex, the Statesman reported. After the teen told police he told the man he didn't want to have sex, Baldeschwiler allegedly grabbed his hand and placed it on his genitals, according to the Statesman.

According to the affidavit, the boy told police the two had met more than once and engaged in sex. Baldeschwiler reportedly told police he thought the boy was 18.

Baldeschwiler was arrested and later released from the Williamson County Jail after posting $17,000 bail. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted of the charge of indecency with a child, which is a second-degree felony.

The newspaper referenced the man lives in Goliad, which is roughly 162 miles south of Leander.
