Man Hit Woman With Car In Leander After Being Rejected
Carlos Amozurrutia, 27, accused of pushing woman out of his pickup truck after she rebuffed him, faces up to ten years in jail if convicted.

LEANDER, TX — A Round Rock man is accused of hitting a woman with his pickup truck after she refused his unwanted advances toward her, according to an arrest affidavit.
The Austin American-Statesman, referencing the affidavit, reported that Carlos Amozurrutia, 27, was giving the woman a ride home on Sunday, Feb. 18, when he turned his attention to his passenger. After rebuffing him, the woman was pushed out of the vehicle as Amozurrutia drove off — hitting the woman with his truck in the process, according to the report.
Police were alerted to the incident that occurred along the 400 block of Blockhouse Drive just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the affidavit. The victim sustained an injury to the left side of her face and scratches on her hands and knees, according to the report.

A witness who was also in the truck corroborated the woman's story, saying she exited the pickup truck with the victim and saw the truck hit the accuser, the affidavit reads. Another pair of witnesses who happened to be driving by told police she saw the victim being knocked to the ground after being hit by an open passenger door as the truck sped off.
Amozurrutia was charged with accident involving personal injury, a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. He has since been released from the Williamson County Jail after posting on a $7,500 bail.
