30K-Plus Voters Cast Election Day Ballots In Williamson County
After an early voting period that saw record turnouts, county has seen brisk activity in what's billed as most consequential election.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS — More than 30,000 registered voters have cast ballots on Election Day, according to rolling tabulations by the Williamson County clerk's office.
A rush of voters unable to cast ballots until getting off work descended on county polling sites, adding further to the already-brisk activity that's occurred all day on Nov. 6. By 4:30 p.m., the county reported that more than 30,660 voters had cast ballots.
In the first three hours after polling places opened at 7 a.m., Williamson County Elections Administrator Chris Davis said nearly 13,000 had cast ballots. Unlike Austin, where voting sites had long lines of people eager to vote, the queues across Williamson County were shorter with wait times between 15 to 20 minutes.
