Suspended Cedar Park Policewoman Seeks To Regain Her Job At Arbitration
Sgt. Kristine Miller was placed on indefinite suspension for an incident involving a subordinate's use of force.

CEDAR PARK, TX -- An arbitration hearing starts this week for a Cedar Park police sergeant previously placed on indefinite suspension stemming from questionable use of force as the officer seeks to regain her job.
The hearing begins March 23 and is open to the public. Sgt. Kristine Miller is seeking to be reinstated through arbitration hearings that begin at 9 a.m. at Building 4 of the Cedar Park Council chamber located at 450 Cypress Creek Rd.
Media will be allowed to take video footage of the hearing, but Cedar Park Police Department officials said “...the arbiter may request that some of the footage be withheld in order to maintain the integrity of the process.”

Police officials said there is no set date as to when the arbitration hearings might conclude. An indefinite suspension from the police ranks is tantamount to a firing.
“Please keep in mind that the duration of the hearing will depend on a number of factors, so no definitive end time or date is currently available,” police said in a prepared statement.

Patch attempted to learn more details as to why Miller was placed on indefinite suspension, but Cedar Park Police spokeswoman Tara Long provided few details.
“I don’t have much,” she said in an emailed reply to Patch. “I know that her indefinite suspension has to do with how she managed a use of force incident by a subordinate.”
Long also didn’t provide the date for the incident, saying that more details would be presented during the upcoming arbitration hearing.
“I don’t have any other details right now,” she wrote when pressed for further details. “The information will be laid out during the hearing tomorrow by those who are familiar with it.”
