WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — A correctional officer at the Williamson County Jail was arrested for drug possession, officials confirmed late Tuesday.
Richard Acuña Jr., 47, was charged with possession of a controlled substance after drugs were found in his vehicle, the sheriff's office said in an email. The drug possession charge he was a assessed is a 2nd degree felony, officials noted.
By Wednesday, sheriff's officials provided more details. The search of the officer's vehicle was conducted at around 4:30 p.m. in the jail parking lot at 306 W. 4th St. During the search, a drug-sniffing canine gave indications of a positive alert, and that's when cocaine was found inside Acuña's vehicle.
