Woman Who Was Shot Alongside Dad In Cedar Park Has Died
Hailey Reyes, 23, and her father, John Michael Garcia, 45, of San Antonio were gunned down by estranged relative on May 12.
CEDAR PARK, TX — Hailey Reyes, the young woman who was gunned down alongside her father in Cedar Park by an estranged relative earlier this month, has died. Officials confirmed the woman's death Monday.
The 23-year-old woman was shot on May 12 by an uncle who was estranged from the family outside a home in Cedar Park. Her father, John Michael Garcia, 45, died of gunshot wounds at the scene. The shooter also died at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Reyes had been on life support at St. David's Round Rock hospital since being shot in the head, but succumbed to her injuries at 10 a.m. on Memorial Day, Cedar Park police confirmed in a press advisory.

Police said their investigation into the murder-suicide is ongoing, and now they seek to speak to the father of the shooter for more information. The father was identified as Ruben Perez Garcia, 86. Anyone knowing the father's whereabouts is asked to call detective Larry Bond with the Cedar Park Police Department at (512) 260-4766.
Police on Tuesday released the most recent photo they were able to find of Garcia in the hopes someone might recognize him and alert officials as to his whereabouts.

The double shooting occurred at around 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, at 711 Dogwood Trail. Responding officers found two men shot to death and Reyes suffering from critical gunshot injuries. The woman was rushed to St. David's Round Rock Hospital where she is on life support and not expected to survive, police said at the time. Family members have since readied the process of allowing doctors harvest her organs for other patients in need of them, a police official told Patch.
Police identified the shooter as Elijah Jared Stone, 47, of Austin, who was found dead from a single self-inflicted gunshot to the head. Police have yet to determine a motive for the killings, telling Patch previously he had been estranged from the family for at least a decade before going on his rampage.
