2 Families Sue Hospital After Infant Deaths

Two families are alleging that a Clear Lake hospital was negligent in the care of their prematurely born babies.

CLEAR LAKE, TX — Two families are suing a Texas hospital, accusing them of negligence and bad practices in the deaths of their premature infants, according to reports. Click2Houston reported Marie Martinez lost her daughter Zoey and Susan Gonzalez lost her son Joseph.

The lawsuit alleges that Clear Lake Regional Medical Center's care of their vulnerable kids was "below the acceptable standards of care and constituted negligence and gross negligence," according to Click2Houston.

Martinez said Zoey had a good chance. "She was doing fairly well," she said Click2Houston reports. "When we walked up, her heart rate actually went up. I think she knew we were there but I could tell just by looking at her that she was gone."
