Bartender Charged In DWI Fatality Surrenders
Amy Allen, 40, a bartender at Crescent City Connection Sports and Oyster Bar, is accused of serving alcohol to 20-year old Veronica Rivas.

HOUSTON, TX — The bartender accused of serving alcohol to two underaged women invovled in a fatal car accident on Feb. 28, appeared in court on Monday.
Amy Allen, 40, a bartender at Crescent City Connection Sports and Oyster Bar on El Camino Real, is accused of serving alcohol to 20-year old Veronica Rivas and her 17-year old passenger, hours before Rivas crashed her SUV into a car driven by Shayla Joseph.
Allen, who was charged with criminal negligence, allegedly did not check the ID’s of Rivas and her friend before serving them alcohol.

Rivas allegedly had a blood alcohol level of .21 and was driving her SUV at 90 miles per hour when she slammed into the back of Joseph's car on the Interstate 45 feeder near El Dorado.
The crash killed Joseph and her three month old son, who was strapped in a car seat.
Along with Allen the Harris County District Attorney's Office charged Devin Jackson, 24, with knowingly purchasing and providing alcohol to a minor, and John Medina, 23, with with knowingly purchasing and providing alcohol to a minor and aggravated perjury for providing false testimony to the Harris County grand jury.
