So far, the thief has snatched four GPS units valued between $10,000 to $25,000 and has caused thousands in damage covering his tracks.

KEMAH, TX -- A mysterious man cruising through the Clear Lake Canal in a kayak, wearing a gas mask and a wet suit, has done more than just paddled for pleasure.
Over the past six weeks, the mysterious man has stolen four GPS units valued at between $10,000 to $25,000 each.
Boaters, who live on the canal have left the lights on at night on their boat houses, but it hasn’t discouraged the boat burglar.

During one attempted burglary, the man was seen trying to remove the GPS unit, and when he couldn’t remove the device, he sprayed the surveillance cameras with a fire extinguisher and sprayed the boat surface down with an acid and bleach.
Blake Sullivan, who owns the boat, said the damage from the acid will cost at least $3,000 to repair, and he feels the thief will come back with the tools he needs to finish the job.
