Bogus Cops Robbing Residents In Texas City Apartment Complex
The Badges Were As Fake As The Cops Who Robbed A Man At His Apartment Last Week.

TEXAS CITY, TX — Police are looking for two men who posed as police officers and tried to break into several apartments.
The incidents were reported on Jan 23 at the Stone Ridge Apartments in the 1100 block of Texas 146.
One victim told police that someone knocked on his door at about 2 a.m., wearing shirts with the words “police” printed on front and back and wearing police badges.

The bogus police told the man they were investigating a domestic disturbance and asked him to open the door.
When he opened the door, one of the men pulled a gun and they forced their way inside demanding money, but only managed to get away with his cellphone, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Another resident at the complex said the fake cops had also showed up at his door, but that he’d answered the door armed, and that the men had left.
Both suspects were black men with one described as about 5’ 4” tall, with a short beard and the other who was wearing a tan or beige hoodie.
Both men took off in a dark SUV.
