Clear Lake Man Injured In Fiery Crash On Gulf Freeway
Man's pickup parked in emergency lane is hit by big rig that erupted in flames on Gulf Freeway.
HOUSTON, TX -- A fiery crash between a big rig and a pickup closed the northbound lanes of Interstate 45 near Clear Lake early Wednesday.
The crash happened at about 2 a.m. on the Gulf Freeway and Clear Lake City Blvd.
According to police, the driver of the big rig said that his truck spontaneously caught fire and caused him to lose control.

The semi driver tried to pull off the freeway, and hit a pickup that was parked in the emergency lane.
The driver of the pickup was taken to Clear Lake Regional Hospital with minor injuries.

The accident was cleared by 6:30 a.m.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
