DPS Trooper Shot In The Face With Taser, Shoots Suspect
Trooper shoots man he says grabbed his Taser when he tried to arrest him on an outstanding warrant.

BRAZORIA COUNTY, TX -- A Department of Public Safety Trooper shot a man during a traffic stop, after the man allegedly grabbed the troopers Taser and shot him in the face.
The incident happened shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday on FM 521 near County Road 54.
DPS officials said a state trooper was running radar on FM 521, when he clocked a car speeding, and pulled the driver over.

During an initial check of the license plate, the trooper discovered the 22-year old driver had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

DPS trooper said when he tried to arrest the man, he resisted and during the struggle, the driver allegedly grabbed the trooper’s Taser and shot him once in the face.
Although he was stunned, the troop pulled out his weapon and shot the man as he attempted to run away.
The man was taken to University of Texas Medical Center in Angleton in serious condition, while the trooper was treated for his injury at the scene.
The incident is under investigation.
