Off-Duty Cop Shoots, Kills Dog Attacking Another Dog
The owner of the euthanized animal lives in the Center Pointe community and was issued a citation for animal at large, a Class C misdemeanor

LEAGUE CITY, TX — An off-duty police officer shot and killed a dog that was running loose and attacked another dog that was on a walk with its owner.
The attack happened on Tuesday morning in the 800 block of Center Pointe Drive, officials said in a press release.
Police said the a resident in the Center Pointe community was walking her dog on a leash, when a dog believed to have been a pit bull, charged at them and began attacking her dog.

The off-duty officer from another agency who lives in the area, was driving to work when he heard the attack.
The officer drive over and was forced to shoot the dog twice.

Animal control was called to the scene and the wounded animal was euthanized at the scene, according to the press release.
The owner of the euthanized animal lives in the Center Pointe community and was issued a citation for animal at large, a Class C misdemeanor.
The owner of the dog that was attacked was unharmed, but the injuries to the dog that was attacked were not known.
