Ex-Galveston ISD Cop Arrested In Student Sex Case
Police: Cervantes reportedly had sex with one under-aged student twice, and sent sexually explicit texts to another

GALVESTON, TX -- A former Galveston ISD police officer is behind bars for allegedly having a sexual relationship with an under-aged Galveston Ball High School student.
Victor Cervantes, 30, was arrested on Wednesday following a two week investigation into allegations that he had sex with one under-aged student at least twice, and sent another student sexually explicit text messages, according to investigators.
When Galveston ISD learned of the alleged incidents, Cervantes was placed on administrative leave, but he resigned a short time later.

A statement released by Galveston ISD read:
"We take this matter very seriously, and we are deeply concerned that it appears something of this nature and this seriousness has happened at one of our schools and to one of our students. Galveston ISD and the Galveston Police Department are working closely to maintain a safe and secure environment for all our students."

Galveston Police have charged Cervantes with sexual assault of a child, online solicitation of a minor and two counts of improper educator-student relationship. His bond is set for $35,000.
